5 ways to make use of the Friday afternoon blues
We have all been there. It is Friday afternoon, right after enjoying a large and satisfying lunch. Not much is going on. Slack is virtually dead. You are no longer scrambling to meet a deadline and your tasks can easily be postponed till the following week. All you want to do is stare out the window or sleep the time away.
I present to you my 5 ways to deal with these Friday afternoon blues in no particular order:
1. Give in to temptation
And procrastinate the afternoon away. If your eyes struggling to stay open go find a quiet spot in the office and give yourself a sneaky little nap.
2. Drink a pick me up
Go grab a coffee or tea, as the caffeine will definitely pick you up so you can continue through the afternoon being in top form. This will be much better if you can combine it with a walk to a coffee shop outside.
3. Take a breather
If its a nice day get out of the office or home and take a walk round the block. Enjoy the sunshine and take in the fresh air. This will give you time to get you mind away from work and let you feel refreshed.
4. Partake in some office Gossip
People say it’s good to talk, so go find a colleague and have a little small talk. If your at home start a Zoom call. In the process you will build a better relationship with your work mates.
5. Learn something new
Pick a topic of interest that you don’t normally don’t get the chance to work and spend the afternoon learning about it. The exciting of doing something different and of interest to you will definitely let you use your time wisely. By the this is definitively my favourite way t kill a Friday afternoon.
